The next defeat in the World Cup, Brazil dreams of Pep Guardiola, but...
Pep Guardiola

After 6 years and two world disappointments, Tites' cycle at the head of Brazil is over. The coach in charge since 2016, winner of the America's Cup in 2019, communicated the decision after being eliminated by Croatia on penalties.

Now the Brazilian Football Federation is looking for a new coach and its dream is Pep Guardiola. The Spaniard's name has been mentioned before, but now things seem more serious.

Only this mission seems impossible, because Guardiola has just renewed with Manchester City until 2025 and has a very high salary for the coffers of the Brazilian federation, more than 20 million euros. Brazil some time ago made a survey about the inventor of 'tiki taka', but everything had fallen down precisely because of the economic side.

Guardiola can remain a dream, so the other names circulating for Tites' replacement are numerous. Of course, it takes a high profile to lift Brazilian football, which has not won the World Cup since 2002.

Some of the names being mentioned are Abel Ferreira, Jorge Jesus, Dorival Junior, Fernando Diniz, Renato Gauço, Roxherio Ceni, Mano Menezes (it would be a comeback) and Jorge Sampaoli.
