Prime Minister Edi Rama criticized the violent protesters, asking how they can be the voice of the future when they burn and destroy. Rama said that the cost of living does not decrease by burning cars and attacking businesses, while emphasizing that schools and social housing are built from the tower taxes.
Yesterday I saw a girl in uniform, guarding the state on the boulevard. There was another girl in front of her, dressed and shod from head to toe like she came out of Instagram, also with headphones in her ears, who addressed the girl in uniform with the vulgar language of drunk men. One of the symbols of the protest.
How can we, how can Albanian society today be willing to justify, let alone tolerate, this flag of vulgarity?
The leaders here know very well what they read on their internal networks, what language: "Come on, today we will burn all the trees in Tirana. Come on, today we will destroy all the cars in Tirana."
How can these be the voice of the future? How can these be the call of something new?
Do these reduce the cost of living? We all know it very well and believe me, we know it as much as you do, even though you have the weight of the cost of living in your daily life more than I do.
Will the cost of living be reduced by burning and destroying? Will better wages come from breaking banks and burning cars? Will more affordable housing be achieved by attacking businesses and attacking towers?
"Let's go," they said, "let's destroy Edi Rama's head there yesterday too," because they also destroyed my head in that building there.
Do they know, don't they know how much taxes were paid to build that building? Do they know? No, they don't know.
With the taxes on that building and the percentage that goes to housing from that building, five new schools are built. Five new schools are built!
There are 3 million euros in taxes and 3% goes to housing, which is 18 apartments for people who need affordable and social housing.
How do taxes come from? Where do they come from? Have these people ever done the math on how all this stuff that's being built in Tirana is financed? Schools, roads, sidewalks, traffic lights, trees that are planted and all that, all that.
