Edi Rama

Prime Minister Edi Rama said that the young people participating in the violent protests are ideologized and extremist by the spirit of Antifa, which, as he emphasized, US President Donald Trump has declared a terrorist organization. Rama stated that this does not mean that the young people are terrorists, but that they are hostages of an ideology that aims to destroy and overthrow everything.

"Of course, this does not mean at all that anyone today is protesting peacefully, even though there are very few who are protesting peacefully, because even the girls and boys who join this, essentially do not want peace, they want overthrow. They are young men and women who are ideologized, extremist, under pressure or under the inspiration of that dark and new force that has appeared in Europe and the United States, which the president of the United States has declared a terrorist organization, Antifa. The president of the United States has declared it a terrorist organization.

This does not mean that the girls and boys who think that life is TikTok and that with TikTok and without being able to string seven words together they can make Albania better are terrorists. Not at all! Are they students? Yes, definitely. Are they pupils? Yes, definitely. But they are hostages of a spirit, of a new ideology, which has only one mission: destroy, turn everything upside down, demolish everything. Flatten it because we will start from scratch.

Those who are a little older here still have the memories of that time when we emerged from 50 years of illusion that it would be leveled and start over. So, yes, it is a very big disaster. I would call it a national disaster today that the Police forces, that the boys and girls, the men and women and, above all, all of you in uniform who are there to protect the state, are not only under the attack of stones, but you are also under the attack of screens.

"This is absolutely terrifying, because, as the minister said, this is happening in France, this is happening in Italy, this is happening in Portugal, this is happening in Belgium. This is being warned that it will happen everywhere, but in none of these countries, no political party has come out to side with the perpetrators. No one has come out to fan the flames on the institutions," Rama said.
