Statistics show that for the fifth consecutive year, Albanians rank first in terms of the largest number of people deported from England.
The latest data from the Ministry of Internal Affairs Home Office, seen by Top Channel, shows that for the period October 2025-October 2026, 2,247 Albanians were convicted of leaving residence permits.
According to the Home Office, Albanians rank first in the number of deportations, leaving behind Romanians, Brazilians, Indians and Poles.
Almost the majority of the 2,247 Albanian deportees are people who have been convicted of various criminal offenses, who, after serving 40% of their sentences, have returned to Albania on special planes.
80% of them, the Home Office says, were convicted of being involved in the sale of cocaine.
Another Home Office data shows that "Albanian nationals constitute the largest group by nationality among persons returned under asylum-related procedures, accounting for a quarter (24% or 2,831 people) of all such returns by March 2026."
During 2022, over 12,000 Albanians arrived in England by rubber boat, crossing the English Channel.
The Home Office says that during 2025, 53% of the total number of people arriving by dinghy who have already been deported are Albanians.
During the period from February 1, 2025 to January 31, 2026, a total of 2,835 migrants were transported by plane out of the United Kingdom, at a total cost of £13.8 million, equivalent to approximately £5,000 per person.
According to The Telegraph newspaper, the deportation of 47 Albanians on a private Airbus 321 plane cost the Home Office 22,000 pounds for each of these 47 people.
A spokesperson for the British Home Office stated:
"More than 80,000 immigrants who entered illegally and foreign nationals who committed criminal offenses have returned since the July 2024 elections, a 41 percent increase."
Albania was the country with the largest number of charter flights, with 42 aircraft chartered to repatriate 1,810 migrants during this time period, who had entered illegally by violating immigration law or had committed criminal offenses.
