59 young people appeared before the court today for the determination of security measures, following their arrests during the protests in recent days in the capital. The court hearing was conducted by three judges.

The court has imposed the security measure "compulsory appearance" on 22 protesters arrested during the recent riots in Tirana , ordering their release from detention.

Meanwhile, the Court of First Instance continues to review cases for the imposition of security measures against persons arrested and escorted during the protests.

Yesterday, police escorted 17 other protesters, as part of actions taken following incidents recorded during the demonstrations.

Protests in the capital have been ongoing for nine days. During the rallies, violent clashes have been recorded between protesters and police forces, which have been accompanied by arrests and criminal proceedings.

The court process for determining security measures against the arrested persons continues, while the court is expected to review the other cases presented before it.
