The State Police has reacted through a statement regarding the participation of minors in the protests of recent days, expressing concern that a significant number of children have been directly exposed to violence and clashes with police.

The police call on parents and legal guardians to be aware of the whereabouts of their children and not allow them to become involved in situations that endanger life and health.

According to the statement, in some cases minors have been found on the front lines of clashes, among hard objects, pyrotechnics, and tear gas.

The Blue Uniforms also express concern about suspected cases of the use of minors in clashes for certain purposes, emphasizing that any suspected case of incitement or exploitation of children for illegal actions will be documented and referred to the competent institutions.

STATE POLICE STATEMENT

The State Police has noted with concern the participation of a significant number of minors in the protests of recent days.

In some cases, children have been on the front lines of clashes, directly exposed to acts of violence, thrown hard objects, and the tools used by the Police to manage the situation.

Child safety is a responsibility that cannot be negotiated and cannot be used for any purpose.

The State Police has a legal obligation to guarantee public order and safety, taking special care to protect minors. However, this responsibility belongs, first and foremost, to parents and legal guardians.

Therefore, we turn to parents again with a clear appeal:

Know where your children are! Don't let them be exposed to violence and situations that endanger their lives and health.

If your child is absent from school, ask where they are. No child should be found among stones, fireworks, and tear gas.

At the same time, the State Police expresses deep concern about suspected cases of the use of minors on the front lines of clashes, exposing them to danger for certain purposes.

Using children as shields for acts of violence is not an exercise of the right to protest. It is an unacceptable act that violates their safety and rights.

Any suspected case of incitement, organization or exploitation of minors for illegal acts will be documented and referred to the competent institutions, in accordance with the law.

The State Police respects and guarantees the right to peaceful protest, including the rights of minors, but will take all necessary and proportionate measures to protect their lives and safety.

Children are no one's shield and cannot be turned into instruments of conflict for certain purposes.

No cause is worth more than the life and safety of a child.

The State Police calls on all participants in the gatherings to immediately distance themselves from masked and violent individuals and not to become part of acts of violence and destruction. Stop violence against Police officers, institutions and public and private property! Any act of violence endangers the lives and health of citizens, especially children and minors. The right to protest must be exercised peacefully and cannot be used as a justification for violence and destruction.
