The General Secretary of the SP, Damian Gjiknuri, while at a press conference, was also asked about the candidacies for the May 14 local elections.

When asked if Benet Beci will be the SP candidate for Shkodra Municipality, he said that it would be a "suitable name".

" There may be many MPs who would like to run for mayor, Beneti is a good candidate and would do honor to Shkodra. I am not confirming that it will be Bennett, as they will be subject to a consultation process within the party, but it would be an honor for Shkodra .

Gjiknuri said that he expected the Socialist party to win no less than 40 municipalities in the next local elections. He said that the possibility of winning even more municipalities was not ruled out, since the alternative in front of the SP did not inspire confidence in the citizens.

" We do not go below 40 municipalities, this is not discussed. The number can be even higher, but it depends on our dynamics and organization. Looking at the governance and lecture heritage and the alternative in front of us, we naturally come to this conclusion.
