Post :
I invited today to the Institution of the President of the Republic, the Chairman of the Central Election Commission, Mr. Ilirjan Celibashi to discuss the preparations of the electoral process for the local elections of May 14, 2023. I also emphasized the importance of these elections not only as a welcome opportunity to express political will, but also as an important test of prudence for our system itself democratic.
In the conversation with Mr. Celibashi, I focused on the necessity of implementing the Electoral Code and CEC instructions by all central and local institutions with the obligation not to use public activities and resources in support of electoral subjects and their candidates in the campaign.
I take the opportunity to make a public appeal to all the subjects of this law to implement it precisely and to encourage the CEC to monitor and correctly implement it. All Albanians want a fair and equal competition of candidates in the campaign. Through law enforcement we guarantee this.
