The Democratic Party will wait for the names of the candidates who will enter the primaries for the municipalities of Tirana, Durrës and Elbasan until November 6.

The first to show his ambition in Tirana to be in the race for the primaries and convinced that he will be the official candidate of the opposition was MP Belind Këlliçi.

Without official candidates, but with potential names to compete in the primary process, there are also the Elbasan and Durrës Municipalities.

In the city of Elbasan, the two most potential candidates to be part of the race to represent the opposition in the elections of May 14, 2023 are Blendi Himçi and Aurel Bylykbashi.

The current head of the PD Elbasan branch, Blendi Himçi, as well as the former MP Bylykbashi, have confirmed for ABC that they are evaluating the process of the primaries to the maximum and will decide on a real commitment in the coming days.

In Durrës, the most potential name to be part of the primary race is the former deputy and current head of the Durres branch, Igli Cara.

Cara's name was mentioned as a candidate of the Democratic Party in the partial elections of March 6, but at that time Cara preferred to support the candidate Ardian Muka.

The Democratic Party is still in the process of negotiations between the deputies Paloka and Bardhi in order to come up with a common candidate in all the municipalities of the country.
