The Prime Minister's Chief of Staff, Vali Bizhga, has reportedly resigned after many years in this position.
Bizhga has been close to Edi Rama's administration since he headed the Municipality of Tirana. She has kept a low public profile, while being considered the right-hand woman of the prime minister.
She has also been experiencing health problems, which is thought to be the reason for her resignation. Her place will now be held by Vilma Premti, who until two days ago was the chief of staff of the President of the Constitutional Court, Olta Zaçaj.
Following her resignation, VNA sources indicate that she is expected to replace Vali Bizhga in her position as chief of the prime minister's cabinet.
