An Iranian bride tragically died at her wedding after being hit by a blind bullet during a round of celebratory gunfire.

Mahvash Leghaei, 24, had just been married when a guest decided to mark the occasion by firing a few ceremonial shots, a custom that is illegal in Iran.

Unfortunately, the celebratory firearms display came to a gruesome end. While the first round passed without incident, the second round reportedly went through Leghaei's skull and brain. The bride then fell into a coma. Fortunately, the other two injured escaped with minor injuries.

After the incident, the unidentified perpetrator, who is said to be the groom's cousin, allegedly fled the scene, but was caught by the police immediately after./ TDPel Media
