Lulzim Basha submitted his candidacy for chairman of the official Democratic Party. Earlier, an unknown character, Gjergji Hani, also presented his candidacy. Today is the deadline for the submission of candidacies that will be filtered and approved first by the Presidency, then formalized.

The meeting of the National Council of supporters of Lulzim Basha is taking place without the majority of democratic deputies.

This Council also approved the establishment of the Electoral Commission that will administer the electoral process for the new head of the party on July 29.

This meeting, which should have been unifying, seems to have deepened the gap between the Democrats.

17 MPs who make up the majority in the "Bardhi" group boycotted this meeting with the argument that it is in flagrant violation of the statute and the internal regulation approved on January 15 of last year by the National Council.

General Secretary Gazment Bardhit and the 16 deputies who support him have stated that they will not recognize any process that contradicts the statute.
