The new Mayor of Shkodra, Benet Beci, after taking office today met with his predecessor, the opponent in the May 14 elections, Bardh Spahia. It is the latter who shared a post on social networks where he showed that he was waiting for Beci in the office.
"I did it with the culture of citizenship that I grew up with and inherited from my Shkodra," said Spahia.
Influenced by the attacks he received from Berisha militants for the meeting with Beci, Spahia said in the meeting he repeated to Beci that there was an electoral massacre in Shkodër on May 14.
"But without a doubt in those 10 minutes of meeting, I repeated Mr. Beci, I have repeatedly expressed publicly that there were no elections in Shkodër, but a real electoral massacre, where votes were massively bought with the millions of euros thrown by the government, robbed with violence and unprecedented threats from crime organized, supported and coordinated by the state itself, accompanied by the blackmailing rhetoric of the prime minister, for not providing investments for Shkodra. This has never happened in 32 years of pluralism and it is a dark stain that will accompany all those who became part of the theft and deformation of the will of the voters", he writes.
Beci's swearing-in ceremony took place today. He said that his institution will have its doors open to all citizens regardless of party affiliation.
