The Prime Minister of Albania has said that Britain is in a "bad position," while commenting on the immigration crisis in the English Channel. Edi Rama said at the Delphi economic forum in Greece that he thinks Britain is going through a "nervous crisis" over immigration.
"They are very bad, the British deserters, so much so that they have to go after the Albanians to feel like they still have "muscles". No problem. We have great respect for Britain and for what Britain stands for and for British history and culture, so we will be patient until they get over this situation. We thought, 'Wow, the British are talking bad about us.' And what? It's not our problem. It is their problem", said Rama.
The UK faces nearly 140,000 cases in the asylum system, which ministers have admitted is "broken".
Last month, Rama criticized the "shameful" way Suella Braverman had recently singled out Albanian immigrants, referring to them as "Albanian criminals".
The cabinet minister also said Albanians should not seek asylum in Great Britain because they come from a "safe country", with Prime Minister Rama saying the dispute marked a "very low point" in relations between the two countries. .
Asked on GB News whether the reforms in the bill will work, Sir Bob said: I'm not convinced they will. A great emphasis has been placed on changing the law and legislative solutions. I don't think that's the point. The real problem is that the system is not working efficiently enough. We're not getting a system where people who come in, potentially illegally, are sent through the immigration court and asylum system quickly enough.
At the Delphi economic forum, Rama said he wants Britain to adopt a system like the one in Germany, which will grant visas to Albanians arriving for certain jobs. But it seems the UK government has no plans to change its position./TheIndependent
