Democratic MPs who are part of the Mandates Council are holding a press conference at the Democratic Party headquarters after yesterday's meeting, where SPAK prosecutors, including its leader, Klodian Braho, presented the evidence on which they accuse Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku, of violating equality in tenders.
" Together with other colleagues of the Mandates Council, we strongly condemn, through this public communication, the unprecedented act that the President of the Assembly, on Rama's political order, made during yesterday's meeting of the Mandates and Immunity Council, during the review of the request to grant SPAK the authorization to go to court for the arrest of Balluk.
As in no other case, Peleshi postponed the meeting of the Mandates Council, preventing this request from being considered and paving the way for SPAK's request.
This is a political act ordered by Edi Rama to obstruct justice and protect the corruption of the Deputy Prime Minister and his government.
We strongly request a meeting of the Mandates Council to accept the Prosecution's request. We share the concern that SPAK prosecutors have that every day Balluk is free and on duty risks destroying evidence and intimidating witnesses.
"The Prosecution's request emphasizes that it is legally argued and supported by 80 pieces of evidence divided into several volumes, with thousands of pages ," said Gazment Bardhi.
