A meeting of the Kavaja Municipal Council held today was accompanied by tensions, as the agenda included an initiative to dismiss the current mayor of the Municipal Council, Rudin Hylviu, and replace him with a PSD candidate, Hasan Cara.

Vox News has learned that the initiative is supported by the Socialist Party and specifically the political leader of Tirana, Taulant Balla.

However, the attempt to secure the necessary majority in the 31-member council was unsuccessful.

The voting process was not completed, as consensus was not reached. In these conditions, the members withdrew, causing the Balla initiative to fail.

Currently, the Kavaja Municipal Council is divided: Together We Win has 9 councilors, PS 13 councilors, PD 3 councilors, PAA 3 councilors, PR 1 councilor and PSD 2 councilors.

Since 2023, the Municipality of Kavaja has been led by democrat Fisnik Qosja.
