Berisha reacts to Rexhep Qosja's death: We had opposing opinions and

Sali Berisha has shared a message of condolence for the passing of the prominent academic and intellectual of the Albanian nation, Rexhep Qosja.

"Academician Rexhep Qosja closes his eyes forever. Dear friends, the sun has set forever for academician Rexhep Qosja. Albanian culture, literary, social and political thought, Albanian polemics and letters lost one of their luminaries, the author of a series of works in these fields," he writes.

Sali Berisha says that despite having had disagreements, disagreements and different assessments with Prof. Rexhep Qose, he has maintained and will always maintain respect and gratitude towards him. Especially, he says, for the time when Qose was the only powerful public voice of the voiceless and oppressed Albanians of Kosovo by the Serbian occupier.

The democratic leader also later recalled the unwavering support the academic gave to the KLA, but also his critical stances towards developments in Kosovo and Albania.

"On this occasion, I express my deepest condolences to the family, friends, relatives and authorities of Kosovo. May the soil of the motherland be light," concludes Sali Berisha's telegram of condolences to the Qosja family.

Despite the opposition, disagreements and different assessments that I have had with Prof. Rexhep Qosen, I have maintained and will always maintain my respect and gratitude towards him, especially for the time when he was the only powerful public voice of the voiceless and oppressed Albanians of Kosovo by the Serbian occupier and later for the unwavering support he gave to the KLA but also his critical stances towards developments in Kosovo and Albania.

On this occasion, I express my deepest condolences to the family, friends, relatives and authorities of Kosovo. May the light soil of the motherland rest in peace.
