The opposition will hold its next protest today at 5:00 PM, which they call civil disobedience.
For the first time in almost a year, Sali Berisha, the opposition leader who regained his freedom on November 27, 2024, is expected to be among the protesters in the square after the GJKKO revoked his 'house arrest' security measure in connection with the privatization case of the former "Partizani" sports complex followed by the construction of 19 towers where his son-in-law, Jamarbër Malltezi, is the beneficiary.
The former prime minister is accused of corruption.
As a result of the protest, several roads in Tirana will also be blocked. They are: the road near the Tirana Municipality, the roundabout at "Zogu i Zi", at "Willson" Square, at "Palace of Arrows", as well as the intersection at "Rruga e Elbasanit", near the "Namazgja" mosque.
The last opposition protest was on November 26, lasted three hours and paralyzed some of the main connecting nodes in the capital.
