Edlira Haxhiymeri, former MP of the Socialist Party has passed away today. The sad news, confirmed by family members, shocked Haxhiymer's friends and colleagues. Some of her colleagues in the SP have sent messages of condolence on social networks. President Meta praised Edlira Haxhiymeri as a politician but also as a lecturer who dedicated more than three decades to students.

The pedagogue and dedicated researcher of Social Sciences was suffering from a serious illness for 5 years, the battle with which she could not win and on the morning of this May 14 she closed her eyes forever.

Prof. Edlira Haxhiymeri, one of the founders of the Faculty of Social Sciences and the Department of Labor and Social Policy, from today will not be able to be physically with us.
