Over 70% of Tirana votes recounted

More than 70% of the votes in the Tirana district have been recounted.

From the results, so far there has been no movement in the mandates.

The Democratic Party and the coalition led by it aimed to win the 14th mandate in Tirana, claiming that there was voter fraud and irregularities, but even more votes were lost in the recount.

Undeserved votes have also been found in many of the candidates both in the ranks of the Socialists and the opposition coalition.

The only open race is between Blerina Gjylameti and Olta Xhaçka within the Socialist Party, who were separated by a narrow margin of votes.

The difference from 140 votes has now narrowed to 75.

In the May 11 elections, Olta Xhaçka won the parliamentary mandate, but Blerina Gjylameti aims to take it.

The vote recount process is expected to conclude this weekend for the Tirana district.
