Director Edmond Budina was the first to speak at the protest called by the united opposition.
Budina said in front of thousands of protesters on "Dëshmorët e Kombit" Boulevard that this protest was against the ruling mafia. Among other things, he asserted that citizens should protest to the point of civil disobedience, in order to achieve victory.
"Greetings to the opposition people, to this people who have overcome fear and filled this square. We are not here for the misgovernance of the country but against the power mafia which has usurped the power and at the head of which is Mr. Charter 22 million. That is why we are here to stop this mafia that is in power. He told us that we who protest are without religion and country. But that country has the money, that religion has the drugs, the flag has the sale of the interests of the country.
Don't think that our leaders will bring us down from heaven. Maybe we have never been perfect, but we must fight together to say that we will continue our fight until the end. We are against and will not accept. We are here to say no to drugs, no to the depopulation of the homeland, no to national disintegration, no to poverty, no to immorality, and we are to say no to the mafia. I invite you to never stop the protests without uprooting the power mafia", said Budina.
