The flag of Albania will be raised in the courtyard of Brussels in 2030. This is what Prime Minister Edi Rama said in his speech before the socialist parliamentary group, talking about the integration process and the anti-corruption commission.
Rama emphasized that this is the mission of his government.
"We must excel in this process as we did the diagnostic process, we must raise the national flag at the court in Brussels. This flag must be raised and this will happen in 2030. The next decade will find Albania at the table of the European Council. This should be our fixation and mission, all the others are not enough for what we are elected and owe to the history of this nation and this country".
He called on the opposition to participate in the Special Commission for Good Governance - Rule of Law - Anticorruption and bring its ideas.
According to him, this work will be certified by partners and good ideas will not be left out.
"The only uncommitted part decides by itself at any moment that they want to sit down, let them come and bring all the ideas they have on how to fight crime and corruption or to make Albania safer and more European, bring them there and without any bias what is positive and valid will stay there. This is a work that, when written, will have to be certified by our partners and the US. There is no chance that if there are good ideas we will leave them out on our own. We have no great inventions to make, we have things in place. And I hope that those who did not understand why this commission was set up and the necessity of this process, that they were carried away by the wave of conspiracy theories, today have a clear understanding and if they want arguments, let them open the big book, that there is cheek and headache about how many things everyone has to do; judiciary, executive and legislature".
In addition, Rama told the opposition that participation in this commission is worth it if they want to come to power next year, which according to him they don't even believe themselves.
"Anti-corruption draft resolution. This is an exercise of the state that, for the sake of truth, has all the components at its disposal as far as international representation is concerned, but it would be very good if there were also those who are not part of this national team because they are in the opposition. They are not today, they do not appear, while the special commission has been set up to be a space outside the perimeter of the parliamentary war, whether this war is in the halls of sessions and commissions. It is a space where daily politics is not done, but where all those who are within this perimeter with a mandate from the Albanian people should be a part, all the more that we hear that they will come to power next year. If you want to come to power next year and think that you will come, you will be most interested in being at this table because you will have all this to take, even as a preschool course, this can be worth that the moment you take power you should be ready, but of course the chances are that none of those who say that they will take power next year do not even believe that they will take power. The drowned one who will drown the other who is swimming. We have no reason to lose focus from work. With them or without them, we will do this work because Albania cannot wait for us to get along with them. This is no garden without lunch, the seats are there. In our countries, all members are at work, the group of experts is being established, the work will continue".
