Prime Minister Edi Rama has participated in a discussion with business on the government's new initiative for a comprehensive review of business administrative procedures and cutting bureaucratic links and further improving the business climate.

During his speech, Rama expressed that the removal of barriers for business is a necessity as he added that the opportunities to do business in Albania should be facilitated.

Edi Rama:  This meeting opens a process of discussion with business to jointly identify all those bureaucratic links and those burdens in administrative procedures that can be eliminated and to further improve the business climate. We have moved from stable to positive outlook for the first time. This is a very encouraging step for what we have done so far and for what we will do next.

One of the important elements where the time has come to refocus is to make a detailed analysis, which we have started to do within the government structures by looking critically at every procedure to understand what can be facilitated from the point of view of what is written. This would be incomplete if we do not receive from you, based on your experience, the perspective on how those procedures that are written to have a permit or license of your activity translate into reality and which of them help or hinder the interest of the state or the business climate.

We will provide businesses with a questionnaire and welcome any suggestions from you based on your experience. The removal of barriers and the opening of the breathing channels of the organization of our society that connects business with the state as 2 parties that must interact with each other in function of private and public interest are a necessity, a process that has room for improvement. Today, at this stage bearing in mind that it has been several years since money has been moved on the basis of a previous relief, it is time to make another relief. We are doing our work from within the institutions, but at the end of the day this is a work that is done for entrepreneurship and for the ease of doing business in Albania.
