Prime Minister Edi Rama has asked mayors to remove deputy mayors from office.

In his speech, Rama made the "request" to the mayors, but was met with laughter in the hall.

However, this also caused a warning from the head of government.

He reminded all socialist mayors that local elections are approaching very soon, which means that many of them may not run for re-election as mayors. 

Rama:  By the way, it's good for the vice presidents to change because I see them very tired and exhausted. You laugh because you understand that you alone cannot change. But you still have 2 years... do you want to extend it? This is not for humor. What I'm saying is that you do well to make a big change with the vice presidents. You yourself feel that you are holding them in your arms and that you laughed because you remembered what time they sleep and you are here in Durrës.
