Rama asks the EU for support for the energy crisis and cyber attacks: We will be
Edi Rama at the Congress of PSE

Prime Minister Edi Rama in his speech at the Congress of European Socialist Parties in Berlin focused on the energy crisis. Rama asked for support to overcome this situation.

"We had a bad experience with the EU. When the coronavirus pandemic broke out, we were sidelined. We ran to find vaccines. So we were forgotten and if we didn't have the support of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, we wouldn't have vaccinated anyone for a long time. It was a scary moment that we could see in a dire situation that the EU was not there. And here we are in the case of energy, which is not the same as the pandemic, but it is similar. It's the same when it comes to power for the entire European community, I hope it's not the same case and a solution is found to support the member countries to face the big blow, without being left out", said Rama.

Prime Minister Edi Rama called for a common defense system of the European continent for cyber security issues.

He spoke about Iran's attack against our country, warning that it will not be the only one.

"I believe that we will face many more, not only Albania, but everyone, and I find it incredible that Albania has not come up with a common response system when it comes to security," said Rama.

The prime minister also spoke about the issues of Albanian immigrants to the United Kingdom, a problem with which the British authorities have dealt extensively this summer.

"The British government tells us we have to stop them. How can it be the job of the Albanian government to put order in the channel there, I don't know? But I know that if we do not manage to go to the source of the problems, and if we continue to talk about a united Europe and then do not act when it comes to acting together, we will lose, and we will lose a lot", said Rama.

"Because democracies have a big disadvantage when it comes to fighting autocracies. The pain threshold for people living in an autocracy is much higher than that of people living in a democracy."
