Prime Minister Edi Rama has responded to the opposition's criticisms after his speech at the Council of Europe.
In a post on social networks, Rama recalled what happened 11 years ago in the General Assembly when DP representatives voted in favor of the resolution supported by Dick Marty's report on the trafficking of human organs. He adds that the other two representatives from Albania, Damian Gjiknuri and Shpëtim Idrizi, have voted against that resolution.
Once again, the head of the Albanian government considered it a resolution initiated by representatives of Vladimir Putin's party and did not mention Belgrade at all in his response.
Full reaction:
HISTORICAL MEMORY tells us today with written facts, that when the resolution initiated by representatives of Vladimir Putin's party and further supported by Dick Marty's infamous report on the trafficking of human organs, was presented for a vote in the General Assembly , she unfortunately received the vote in favor of the representative of the Democratic Party in the Albanian delegation, while she was opposed by the other two representatives from Albania, Damian Gjiknuri and Shpëtim Idrizi.
Here is the speech that the representative of the Socialist Party in our country's delegation to the Council of Europe unsuccessfully addressed to the General Assembly:
This report has attracted the attention of many people, due to the seriousness of the accusation, the nature of the alleged crimes and the LACK OF EVIDENCE. We understand that the conspiracy idea surrounding the inability of the International Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) to investigate the alleged crimes and the disclosure in respect of one of the key players in pursuing such crimes, Carla del Ponte, is what prompted this Assembly to ask Dick Marty to produce a full, evidence-based report to shed light on the issues, rather than repeating accusations previously made by others.
Unfortunately, we have to admit that this report does not have a single important new thing and it has only added itself to the number of political issues in the region. There is NOT ONE EVIDENCE and in many parts it is simply in the nature of a political opinion rather than an investigative report.
The report is full of contradictions regarding the alleged activity and disregards any previous work done by the ICTY. One of them is the issue of the two infamous houses: "The Yellow House", for which the ICTY investigation did not bring any information, and in Fushë-Kruje, that famous house where the organs were allegedly taken. But which, as cited in the report, had nothing to do with the alleged activities.
Therefore, I call on the Assembly to support the amendments proposed by the Albanian delegation, which require a proper investigation of the case and avoid declaring an entire political organization guilty in advance, FOR THE SOLE REASON THAT IT Fought FOR THE LIBERATION OF A PEOPLE PRINTED!
