The Democratic Party has so far secured 14 mandates in the Tirana district, with around 30% of ballot boxes counted.
This means that, in addition to the 12 names on the closed list, two other deputies will be elected from the open list through preferential voting.
An important development is related to the political fate of Ilir Meta. The President of the Freedom Party, currently in detention, is in serious danger of not becoming part of the new Parliament, due to the coalition's poor performance in Tirana and the low number of personal votes he has received so far.
Referring to data from Vore and Unit no. 10, Meta is far from the top positions on the open list.
In Vora he received only 94 votes, ranking 11th on the list, while in Unit 10 he received 246 votes, ranking third.
The odds drop even further when you consider that the Opportunity Party ranks third with 7,523 votes in Tirana or 4.93%, taking one mandate from the Democratic Party.
From the count so far, the projection of the distribution of mandates in this district is: SP, 19 mandates; DP 13 mandates, Mundesia 2 mandates, Shqipëria dostër 1 mandate, Lëvizja Bashkë 1 mandate and PSD 1 mandate.
If this trend continues in other areas of Tirana, the chances of Ilir Meta being elected MP are minimal.
