With only a few days left until May 11, the DP has once again filed a complaint with the CEC regarding the problems that have arisen with voters in Greece.
The DP, in its complaint, says that although the authorities publicly guaranteed that the electoral envelopes would be delivered to voters at their address, with the announcement made by the CEC a few days ago that they should present themselves at the DHL postal company points, confusion has been created, and serious concerns have been raised about the transparency, standards and legality of the process.
"The change in the manner of distributing envelopes contradicts the previous statements and rules of the CEC. According to the legal framework, the postal operator was obliged to physically deliver each envelope to the voter, against signature and presentation of an identification document. It was even publicly emphasized that no family member could receive the envelope on behalf of another and three attempts would be made to find the voter at the address," the DP complaint states.
According to the DP, the envelopes are not only not delivered to citizens, but are often being stolen in an organized manner by certain individuals who may appear near postal points (whether official, or underpaid such as betting offices, or the entrances of buildings), using rented cars with Albanian license plates to avoid traces.
The DP also claims that these individuals, suspected of being linked to the SP and its structures, may have collected envelopes with ballots, which is totally prohibited and criminally punishable.
According to the DP, this delivery method from "the envelope comes to your home" to "go and pick it up yourself" not only increases practical difficulties for thousands of voters, but also creates room for interference, irregularities, and potentially manipulation of the process.
"For all of the above, we request your immediate intervention for the immediate return to legality of the voting process and vote administration in the Greek state, guaranteeing regularity, security and reliability for every vote of Albanians there," the complaint states.
