The President of Poland, Andrzej Duda, said from Tirana at the press conference with President Begaj, that there is no doubt that Albania will be part of the European Union as soon as possible.

He said that Albania has moved ahead with reforms and is a vanguard in the region for progress towards membership in the European family.

"I want to thank President Begaj for the invitation for a visit here in Tirana. It is the first state visit of a Polish President in 20 years. It is an important event, we hope it will be a moment of revitalization of Polish-Albanian relations. Beginning of a dynamic cooperation with Albania. We hope that soon Albania will be a member of the European Union and soon we will be together in this big family.

I want to thank Albania for its support to Ukraine, for its clear political position against Russian aggression in Ukraine. Albania has had concrete actions against this aggression that violates all international principles. This aggression must end immediately with the departure of Russian forces from the territory of Ukraine. The territory of Ukraine must be returned to Kiev in full. This is how this war should end.

We thank you for the military presence on NATO's eastern flank. We are together in an alliance for security. I also declared Poland's support for Albania's EU membership. We clearly emphasize, regarding the approach of the Presidency of Poland to the EU, that an important priority is the EU membership of the countries of the Western Balkans, Ukraine and Moldova. Albania is a vanguard in the movement towards the European Union, in its efforts to implement all the reforms. Albania is developing and I have no doubt that Albania deserves membership as soon as possible ", said Duda.

In the end, he called for the intensification of economic cooperation in other areas such as infrastructure projects.

" Only 200 million is the commercial exchange between our two countries. I hope we will strengthen economic ties ", said the Polish president.
