The President of the United Arab Emirates will visit Albania tomorrow.

The news was announced by Prime Minister Edi Rama, who says he will be visiting Tirana for the first time as the president of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

"An old friend of Albanians and a very dear friend of mine personally," Rama emphasized on social media.

According to the head of government, the visit of the Emirati president marks a very important milestone on the path of a friendship and partnership that has been greatly strengthened in recent years.

President Bin Zayed was the largest donor for the post-earthquake reconstruction in Durres and the new reconstruction district in Spitalë was entirely funded by him.

According to Rama, he also promoted the agreement for the tourist port of Durres and was key in the trilateral agreement with Italy for the strategic investment in the underwater energy connection.

"It will be fundamental in transforming Albania into a net exporter of electricity and an energy-independent state in the entire region. With the support of President Bin Zayed, our KESH and the excellent company Masdar Group have embarked on the path of joining forces with a very ambitious plan to increase green energy production capacities," Rama said on social networks.

Another added value of the strategic cooperation, according to Rama, is the program for monitoring roads and schools with the highest technology, as well as the creation of a joint securities company.

"Our precious friend is coming tomorrow with a high-level delegation to set other milestones on the path of a partnership that is based on common interests, but is nourished by a very sincere state, but also personal friendship. I am very proud that Albania today hosts friends like Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, something that until a few years ago could not even be imagined ," said Rama.
