The General Secretary of the Socialist Party, Damian Gjiknuri has spoken about the election of the new President of the Republic. He explained that the majority has a duty to give Albanians a president who is better than the current one.

According to Gjiknur, the worst model after Berisha is Ilir Meta, as he said that the time has come to have a figure similar to Moisiu without political interests.

"We have a constitutional duty to make the country a much better president than the one we have had. The worst model after Berisha was Ilir Meta. All other presidents have been better than these two. Mosiu was very comprehensive, both Mejdani and Nishani, despite being a party member, were much more careful in political balances. The time has come to have a figure similar to Moses without political interests. I want to see in the Presidency a man who respects our traditions, political parties and gives the right messages as a figure who shows them the unity of the nation. "For me, it does not matter if he is president or president, we have enough figures in both sexes who do this job very well," he stated in News 24.
