The promise of the candidate of the Meta-Berisha coalition, Belind Këlliç, for free public transport in Tirana if he is elected mayor, was seen by most of the citizens as unrealizable, according to the survey of the Italian Institute 'Piepoli' carried out in cooperation with Report TV.

The current deputy mayor of Tirana, Arbjan Mazniku, commented in the same way as the skeptics, who considered it a useless promise to attract attention.

Mazniku in the 'Real Story' studio with journalist Sokol Balla on Report TV, said that public transport can never be free and that such a promise is made by people who know they cannot win the elections.

"For every campaign, things are offered that are free of charge, there are always people who will say that they find it interesting. It is typical of people who will not be in office and in these cases they open the bag, make meaningless and useless promises to attract attention. Public transport can never be free. The decision that must be taken, either it must be paid from the general income of the municipality, or this service will be paid by those who use it", said Mazniku.
