The Parliament is holding a marathon session to review the fiscal package and the 2026 draft budget.
While speaking about contributions and fiscal policies, Prime Minister Edi Rama also said that Albania has been evaluated with the most positive marks in Brussels.
The head of government stated that only the Socialist Party is the guarantor of judicial independence.
"I want to assure those who follow us that Albania does not stop, we have entered the decisive phase, which yesterday received new impetus in Brussels, we have been valued with the most positive grades. Precisely because not only have we strictly adhered to all the tasks, today we are in first place for fulfilling the requirements of the new growth plan. We are valued for what we are cursed non-stop, by those who were putting me in debt today with this spectacular view that they are offering me, precisely for justice, reform. If today Albania fights corruption, investigates without distinction, has also set the flag of the independence of justice at the same level, it is the exclusive merit of the Socialist Party. It is the guarantor of this independence", he said.
He further made fun of the DP deputies, who turned their backs on him while he was speaking, addressing them, "I saw you with your face to the wall, always in good health, because we need you alive."
"We will not make any increase in contributions at this stage. Everyone should know that everything that I do not like, but inspires me a lot. So with my face to the wall I saw you, so with my face to the wall I always saw you, only with good health, because we need you alive," Rama said on the podium, amid reactions from opposition MPs.
