Prime Minister Edi Rama has not spared criticism of the new justice system, saying that it is tarnishing the government's successful projects such as "Incinerators" and "Sterilization", as it investigates and arrests "disgusting tails".
Rama, however, during his speech at the SP Assembly, said that the new justice is allowed to make mistakes, but added that the government should never assume the role of the one who knows the affairs of justice better.
SPAK and the Special Court should perform operations to remove corrupt tumors from politics, said Rama, but they should not take "the butcher's knife or scissors" in their hands.
Excerpts from Rama's speech at the SP Assembly:
I expect the National Information Service to be transformed with professionalism from an information dispatcher where you have to read 1,000 pages. Together with the state police and justice bodies to make this phase of the fight against corruption as strong as possible. The new bodies of justice neither fell from the sky, nor did they come from Americans or Europeans. And they would not have been born if we, the Socialist Party of Albania, did not do them. We didn't do it for ourselves, we didn't do it to destroy political opponents. But we did it to forge, despite the wounds and pains in our body politic, the power that has been absent since the birth of the Albanian state.
Rest assured that I also know that these new bodies are still far from being infallible, but as it also applies to us, for new waste or sterilization plants, in the meantime SPAK puts out disgusting tails. To separate the wet from the dry, in some cases also due to the self-awareness of the new and uncontrolled power it has received, can leave much to be desired. But if the duty of the right bodies of justice is to perform operations to remove tumors from politics, without using the scissors or the butcher's knife for statistics, SPAK or the Special Court may even make a mistake, but they are forgiven, but not us. As long as I am here, we will not make the mistake of showing the new bodies of justice by assuming the role of those who know the affairs of justice better.
