"Albania has entered a new phase", Rama opens the SP Assembly, being
Prime Minister Edi Rama at the SP Assembly

Edi Rama opened today the National Assembly of the Socialist Party by being proud of Albania's achievements in tourism this summer season.

Rama did not hide his joy as he said that today Albania has entered a new phase, where tourism has flooded all four sides of the country, up to cities such as Korça, Përmeti, Tepelena and Tirana.

The head of the Socialists said that the two biggest moments of this season are the new justice and the exceptional tourism in the country.

Rama is expected to announce the changes in the government cabinet, which he will propose to the President of the Republic tomorrow.

Excerpts from Rama's speech at the SP Assembly:

Albania has entered a new phase, its two biggest affirmations are the exceptional tourist season and the unusual impact of the new justice bodies in this period. Let's be clear from the start, this is just a new beginning from a new level, not the peak we want to reach at the end of this decade.

The more we progress, the more the need for knowledge, political and institutional empowerment, skills and speed increases. When we look back we have 1001 reasons to be proud of the path we are taking. Albania 10 years ago had these same seas and mountains, but it was not a European tourist destination. The most European tourists who came to this country were Albanian immigrants, Albanians from Tetova or Pristina. In the mirrors of the world press, the good news about Albania was like a drop of water.

This year, since spring, there has not been a week without writing about touristic Albania. On Europe's largest television channels, Albania's tourism was commented with sympathy. There was only one hotel in Korça, nobody went to Berat because there was no road. In Gjirokastra piece by piece, like that. This new wind of tourism that blew this season from all four sides was unimaginable a few years ago. When I was talking about touristic Tepelena, only Earthquake believed me. This summer, going down to the cold water of Tepelena or Nivicë was only possible by reservation.

Tirana, our concrete capital remained in the shadow of the crime towers, the noise could not be breathed from the most polluted air in the world, the capital that until July was inhabited only by state employees, this year it was occupied street by street and house by house. Bringing in a stream of revenue for mass rentals through Airbnb. From Shkodra to Permet and up to Cologne. Am I happy, yes I am very much. I know other examples.
