The mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, in an interview this evening with Grida Duma on Top Story, spoke about the electoral campaign and the Socialist Party.
Veliaj also commented on the breakdown of relations with Ilir Meta, whom he said was a traitor by breaking the agreement and that the "marriage" between Meta and Berisha is not natural.
"The strategy is very simple, we have an opposition with persona non grata. It is something very ugly for 2023 to have people offering solutions when they cannot pass Rinas. 17 parties have emerged from the womb of DP. Today, even an ordinary citizen says that a prime minister with a socialist president and democrats have put each other in prison, this makes xixa. This is an unnatural marriage. I consider this to be an alternative. I run a circuit and I'm working on five battles that I intend to win all of them. These people were not where they were needed. Their decisions are not to be judged, but today we are taking stock, we have a marriage of extreme left and right. There was a sincere effort between me and Meta to unite the left, the order of events demanded that the left unite. The one who leaves an agreement committed the sin. We kept our word and the order of events was first to vote for the President. As soon as Meta gets the votes, he forgets the agreement and goes and enters the tent, creates his own party. It takes two people to dance a tango, the moment one leaves it is his fault. There is a consensus in all polls that Ilir Meta is the most unappreciated man in Albania."- said Veliaj.
