The Speaker of the Assembly, Lindita Nikolla, has responded to MP Petri Vasili, after the latter asked the Assembly for information about the Security Files Authority, where it was said that Ilir Meta is an associate of the Security.

Through a letter, Nikola replies to Vasili stating that her every action is guided by the Constitution of the Republic of Albania, the laws and the Rules of the Assembly.

The Speaker further adds that it is in parliamentary practice that the President of the Assembly shares information with the chairmen of the parliamentary groups and the chairmen of the permanent parliamentary committees of the Assembly and that this did not happen just for this case.

"In response to your request for information, no. 2665, dated 28.07.2022, I inform you as follows: My actions as Speaker of the Assembly of Albania are guided only by the Constitution of the Republic of Albania, the laws and the Regulations of the Assembly. In my statement of July 27, based on the great interest of the media, I informed about the letter addressed to the Speaker of the Assembly from the Authority for Information on the Documents of the former State Security, an institution that reports to the Assembly of Albania.

"Information on some issues that the Authority for Information on Former State Security Documents encounters during its daily work", which you find attached. It is in the parliamentary practice that the Speaker of the Assembly shares information with the chairmen of the parliamentary groups and the chairmen of the permanent parliamentary commissions of the Assembly," Nikolla writes.
