" There are no oligarchs in Albania ," said Prime Minister Rama at the meeting with fuel suppliers.
He said that anyone who uses this word is still under the influence of the communist dictatorship.
Prime Minister Rama said that if there were oligarchs, there would be no government initiatives to curb abusive profits.
Rama: I personally agree with those who think that there are no oligarchs in Albania because the word oligarch has a certain meaning and whoever uses this word has not yet been freed from the clutches of communist propaganda, they have simply changed the word to bring themselves more up to date, from kulak they have changed to oligarch because they think they are more modern. There are no oligarchs in Albania because if there were, those who earn more would not pay more. If there were oligarchs in Albania, there would be no initiatives on our part to narrow the circle of abusive profit of those who have more. If there were oligarchs, there would be today I don't know how many times more subjects who have access to public funds thanks to competition or to the rights that the state grants based on the law to those who want to do business. Oligarchs, by definition, narrow the paths of competition and the government tightens its belt if it is to expand the power of the public interest in relation to private interest. This does not work in Albania. I don't think you deserve all the bad things they say about you.
