A day after publicly announcing her candidacy, activist Evi Kokalari has publicly challenged Sali Berisha for the leadership of the Democratic Party, elections which will be held on May 23 of this year.

In a long note on Facebook, Evi Kokalari writes that she has the necessary integrity to face Sali Berisha for the leadership of the Democratic Party. Kokalari writes that in the coming days, she will officially submit her application to enter the race to lead the Democrats.

The activist has also made strong accusations against the leader of the FRPD, Besart Xhaferri, that he is "shameless" and that "he gives a damn about this party while he has entered the National Council, the presidency and the parliament without any meritocracy."

Kokalari further writes that the DP needs rehabilitation, which according to her will lead to Rama's ouster from the government.

"With the points above alone, I say that I am absolutely the right person not only for a total rehabilitation of the DP, but also for the removal of Edi Rama within one to two years of taking over the DP and, consequently, for a total rehabilitation of the government and parliament, so that we have a functional state, free of corruption, that works for the people and not vice versa," she emphasizes in her post.

In the last 24 hours I have had many requests for interviews and I understand that entering the race, especially against Berisha, constitutes news.

At the moment I don't want to do interviews in Albania, although I have considered one or two of you and maybe we will sit down in the future.

But, in response to your comments that I need a platform and need to start building an audience, let me tell you that NO – I don't need a media platform, moreover, many of you distort what I say. Your goal is only clicks and not reality. I have spent more time sending you messages after interviews, asking you to quote me for what I said, than the actual time spent during the interview.

We are no longer in 2021, when I was super naive and didn't know any of you. Today I know, without fear, 80% of those who have political shows and most of the analysts in the studios, that majority that leaves a lot to be desired.

For those who don't know, the last interview I gave in Albania was on election day in America, (November 2024) when Trump won, and I have refused every interview since.

Today, my goal is to qualify for the competition and the official request will go to Sali Berisha these days from American lawyers. Any interview given at the moment is excessive consumption.

At the moment of qualification, Berisha should appear publicly in the media with me to have debates at the same level as in the US, with professional journalists asking real questions that interest Democrats who have the right to vote.

Unë po – edhe pse e dija që do t’ju vinin kundër meje, siç ndodhi, sërish fola, bëra luftë dhe betejë e vetme! Ky është fakt që askush nuk e mohon dot, sepse është i raportuar masivisht nga media.

Sot kemi njerëz të pafytyrë si kreu i FRPD-së, që jep mend për këtë parti ndërkohë që është futur pa asnjë meritokraci në Këshillin Kombëtar, kryesi dhe parlament. Kujt i duhen këto lloj karakteresh?

Kush nga ju e ka harruar atë luftë që kam bërë pikërisht kundër manipulimeve të zgjedhjeve të FRPD-së, të Këshillit Kombëtar dhe të Kryesisë, dhe këtë të fundit e manipuloi dhe Albana Vokshi, që niste lista emrash me SMS se kë duhej të votonin gratë?

Statuti i PD-së kërkon integritet absolut për kryetarin e saj dhe as Berisha dhe askush tjetër që mund të pretendojë këtë post nuk matet dot me integritetin tim.

Integriteti, karakteri dhe patriotizmi tregohen me fakte dhe AKTE, jo me fjalë koti si të Berishës nëpër foltore apo intervista në TV.

Atyre analistëve dhe elementëve të PD-së që japin mend nëpër studiot televizive se nuk bëhet politika nga jashtë – keni të drejtë, nga jashtë nuk bëhet, por bëhet vetëm nga Ëashington, DC, ku kam kaluar pjesën më të madhe të kohës.

Ju kam thënë më parë: pastrimi politik në Shqipëri nuk bëhet nga terreni, sepse vota, sidomos e atyre që janë pjesë e strukturave të PD-së, manipulohet gjithë kohën. E njëjta gjë vlen edhe për zgjedhjet parlamentare dhe Edi Ramën.

Lufta bëhet nga Ëashington, DC dhe nëse dikush nga ju mund të ketë këllqe, por edhe mundësitë për ta arritur këtë, bujrum – hidhuni. Por mend se ku duhet të jem mos jepni, sepse nuk jeni në zotërim të kapacitetit të duhur për të analizuar se si dhe nga ku e bëj unë betejën.

Nuk dua të lë mënjanë ata analistë studiosh që deri në Tiranë kanë udhëtuar dhe japin mend se si funksionon DASH në Ëashington DC dhe se kjo e fundit s’do merret me votat në Shqipëri. Realisht, kjo tregon injorancë të thellë për sa i përket mënyrës se si llogjikoni, perceptoni se si funksionon SHBA, DASH apo DOJ. Ndoshta, minimalisht, lexoni mjaftueshëm që të analizoni se si funksionojnë administratat Amerikane. Por ju mirëkuptoj, sepse po të kishit aq mënd për analiza, do kishit analizuar së pari veten dhe ju garantoj që do kishit refuzuar të shkonit nëpër studio, sepse do donit të ruanit dinjitetin tuaj.

Of course, Berisha's $10 million for LaCivita and Continental Strategies has made the job more difficult, but understand that Berisha bought the consultants and not President Trump.

I've often said it: there is no more stinking scum than political consultants in America, because for them, everything is driven by money and not by principles. Everyone gets in here, lobbyists first.

Edi Rama has also made the job difficult by forgiving Albania Ivanka Trump or Jared Kushner, and again I am the only one who is fighting it. How? I cannot make this public at the moment, but understand that the US still has laws, Congress, FBI and independent media, and soon, maybe within March, you will hear "bombs" that will expose the corruption of Jared, Ivanka, the clown of the Prime Minister's Office and some others.

With the points above alone, I say that I am absolutely the right person not only for a total rehabilitation of the DP, but also for the removal of Edi Rama within one to two years of taking over the DP and, consequently, for a total rehabilitation of the government and parliament, so that we have a functional state, free of corruption, that works for the people and not vice versa.

Sazani will remain the property of Albanians and if Kushner starts construction work, when our people have the balls, they will build it themselves properly.

Transatlantic corruption will end soon. This is in America's own interest, so we are not alone in this battle.

And two words to those who think they are helping me by explaining who Berisha is, how the DP works, and how it will not allow me to enter the race or win – and since you want me to get out of the game without entering properly, and since you consider yourself so smart (and I read all of you, because every piece of information helps in one way or another), I have to ask you: is there any way that you will not insult my intelligence in the process? How do you know that that is exactly what I want – Berisha's manipulations and falsifications behind my back?

When you fight alone, the only way to win is with a strong strategy. The war is not fought with 1,000 people who simply throw stones in the air or set the Prime Minister's Office on fire, as if it were the property of Kristaq Rama and not the people, and then think they will win the battles with Edi Rama.

The war is won only with a good and sophisticated strategy, and Berisha has always lacked a strategist.
