The chairman of the Democratic Union for Integration in North Macedonia, Ali Ahmeti, spoke to the media after the meeting with Prime Minister Edi Rama in Tirana.

He said that the main issue of the conversation was the cooperation between North Macedonia and Albania for EU membership as the only way to stop the departure of Albanians.

"All attention was focused on joint developments. There was a lecture by the Prime Minister, Edi Rama, about the challenges and joint efforts that have been made, as well as the efforts that must be made together towards the opening of the first chapter for membership in the European Union.

So the two countries must coordinate to shorten the path to EU membership to stop large immigration from our two countries. The example of Spain and Portugal was also mentioned, since the moment they became members of the EU, the vast majority of Spaniards and Portuguese had returned to the country.
