Gratitude is the only thing that has kept Lulzim Basha hostage to Sali Berisha. This is what the head of the DP declared in the conference with journalists.

Basha emphasized that since 2013 he has taken care to preserve the image and political heritage of Berisha, but chose to "save the house of the Democrats".

"As much as I worked with Berisha, they didn't. How careful I have been for 10 years from 2013 to preserve the image and political legacy of Berisha in 8 years when they were laughing at him, but I have to choose between gratitude, which has been the only thing I have been hostage to, and the need to move forward and the need to save the house of the Democrats. And we paid an incredible price."

According to him, if he thought for himself, "today there would be no official pro-Western DP, but it would be dissolved like the Re-establishment".
