Basha appeals to Rama: Work on the Electoral Reform Commission should begin
Head of DP, Lulzim Basha

The head of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha, responded to Prime Minister Edi Rama, requesting that the work of the Electoral Reform Commission begin immediately.

Basha said during a meeting with journalists that Rama does not want electoral reform and open lists. He said that the places in this commission where the opposition is represented are filled, so the work should start immediately.

Part of Basha's statement:

PD has revealed its priority by filing several draft laws. After submitting our electoral reform package, we had promises to convene the reform commission. Yesterday we heard the prime minister who returned to the old game with the reform. There is a bipartisan reform commission. The opposition is fully represented.

We remain open to additions to our package of proposals, but we believe that our package comprehensively addresses the problems with electoral reform. Albania, a local area, brings the equality of the vote. The immigrant vote is a proposal that ends barriers to enabling immigrants to vote.

My call on behalf of DP is to immediately start work in the electoral reform commission. There is no alibi, the commission must start work an hour earlier. SP to put aside any alibi and convene the bipartisan commission for electoral reform.
