The Greek Foreign Ministry has reacted after the decision of the Special Court of Albania, which left the elected mayor of Himara, Fredi Beleri, in prison again.
In the reaction of the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it is stated that the court's decision is contrary to the laws of European law.
"Today's decision of the Albanian court, which three months after his arrest and imprisonment, dismisses the request for the release of the elected mayor of Himara, Fredi Beleri, and prevents his swearing in as its elected mayor, the presumption of innocence and the respect of his political rights of all citizens.
It is in direct opposition to the laws of European law, which the Albanian authorities must strictly respect", says the reaction of the Greek ministry.
