The President of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, has made another reaction from prison.
Meta says that prison authorities are preventing him from speaking to journalists, citing pretexts that he has broken regulations.
Meanwhile, he says that today he managed to meet his sister and her two daughters after 20 days, but that the authorities, according to him, prevented his sister's son from meeting them.
For this reason, Meta has established another form of communication with the public: through open letters.
Ilir Meta's first letter will be to Arben Ahmetaj, who is on the run.
Ilir Meta's full reaction:
Dear friends,
Today I was summoned again before a Disciplinary Commission, like a military court, for a "very serious" mistake: Yesterday I gave an interview at noon to journalist Aida Tancica on MCN TV, from the phone of my lawyer, Kujtim Cakrani.
When I first spoke to journalist Beti Njuma, they told me I violated the rules by speaking after 8:00 PM, while today I was called by "Discipline" for the real reason, that they don't want me to communicate with journalists.
What a bunch of idiots! It's good that they banned me from playing ping-pong, but now they want to ban my freedom of speech too.
It doesn't end there.
But today, finally after 20 days, they let me meet my sister and two of the three children. I was initially upset when I only saw my sister and the two daughters at the meeting, but not my son.
They explained to me that Besi was waiting outside because the regulations do not allow more than 3 people in a meeting, when in the meantime, during the 8 months, in the one meeting a week that I had with my family, like any other detainee, I met all 4 of them together.
Under these conditions, when repressive measures are reinforced every day with "innovation", I have decided to implement a new form of communication with the public, with open letters.
Tomorrow, the first open letter will be for Mr. Arben Ahmetaj.
