The extraordinary meeting of the Presidency of the Democratic Party has started, after the conviction of deputy Ervin Salianji.

The latter was seen arriving at the premises of the blue headquarters, where he will join his colleagues in this meeting where it is expected to decide on the new steps that the opposition will follow after this development.

We recall that Salianji was sentenced to 1 year in prison by the Appeal of Tirana, for a false report related to the public denunciation he made on the case known as "babalja".

Democrats denounced the court's decision as political, as they accused Prime Minister Edi Rama of declaring war on the opposition with today's decision.

Rama, meanwhile, has been involved in a fierce clash on the Internet with epithets and insults, retorting with some of the PD deputies.
