After a long period of silence and away from politics, Monika Kryemadhi has reacted on social networks regarding the sentence that the Court of Appeal imposed today on the democratic deputy, Ervin Salianji.

While calling the court's decision absurd and political, the MP from the Freedom Party says that imprisonment for the exercise of duty in defense of the public interest has no place in democracy.

"The absurdity is already being decided by the court, through decisions with political logic and outside of any proportionality norm. Not only free speech, not only denunciation and shedding light on the truth, but anything that affects criminal stability can be declared war on using the state and legal mechanism. Imprisonment for the exercise of duty in defense of the public interest has no place in a democracy. This applies to the elected deputy, public official, media journalist and any citizen without distinction", writes Kryemadhi.
