The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has reacted after the Constitutional Court overturned elections in the Municipality of Tirana, confirming Erion Veliaj as mayor.
During a press conference after leaving the DP Presidency meeting, Berisha said that with this decision, Prime Minister Edi Rama and President Bajram Begaj are deposed.
Berisha, while welcoming the decision, which he described as in accordance with the law, added that it was a gift from Rama to Veliaj, after the violation of the latter's rights.
"I comment on this as a decision by the judges, who in this case applied the law. But I also comment on this as a gift that Edi Rama, who knows no law or morality, unwittingly gave to his main opponent within the party, Erion Velia."
Because he treated him like a serial killer, forcing me to come out in defense of his human rights.
"He treated her in a way that violated the European Convention on Human Rights, the Constitution and every standard of the rule of law. Harram Begaj and Edi Rama are both doomed, they are overthrown by this decision," Berisha said, among other things.
