"Whoever touches Kosovo, touches Albania." This was the message of Chief Diplomat Ferit Hoxha from Pristina, at a joint press conference with his counterpart Glauk Konjufca.
In their speech, the two Foreign Ministers emphasized the necessity for more intensified coordination between our two countries, given the new dynamics in the region, as well as the unstable global times.
Hoxha noted that Kosovo is an absolute priority of Albania's foreign policy, while Konjufca requested Tirana's support for accelerating Kosovo's membership in NATO.
The First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora of the Republic of Kosovo, Glauk Konjufca, said:
" We discussed a range of issues of our common interest. In these times of global instability, coordination between our states is a vital necessity. We must promote our role as factors of stability in the region."
In addition to the Euro-integration orientation of the countries of the region, the NATO membership of most of the countries in our region has been a factor of stability. I asked Minister Hoxha for support for an acceleration of Kosovo's membership in NATO. Kosovo and Albania should coordinate more to support the Albanian diaspora everywhere in the world. Beyond the primer, we should move towards the unification of our educational systems .
The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of Albania, among other things, stated:
" Kosovo has been an integral part of my table in 36 years of my diplomatic career. I feel deeply excited to be in Pristina on this first visit at the head of the MEPJ. The discussions we had today were open, sincere, brotherly.
Kosovo is an absolute priority of our foreign policy. We agreed that the geopolitical dynamics in the region and in Europe require further intensification of intergovernmental and diplomatic coordination. We committed to preparing the next meetings. Our cooperation should translate into more facilitation and less bureaucracy. We discussed increasing the coordination of our foreign ministries at all levels, including diplomatic missions .
