SP MP reacts to the protest in Zvërnec: Unacceptable situation! Private

Socialist Party MP Ardit Bido has reacted after the events that occurred during the protest held in Zvërnec, Vlora, where there were clashes between protesters and masked individuals identified as private guards.

Bido described the situation as unacceptable and condemnable, emphasizing that in a democratic state there can be no privatization of force nor replacement of state institutions by individuals or private structures.

"Yesterday's incident with masked individuals and private guards clashing with protesters is unacceptable and condemnable. Albania is a democratic state where there can be no privatization of force nor replacement of state institutions by individuals or private structures," the MP said.

Bido says that Albania needs investments and that any project that respects the law should be implemented, but underlines that conflicts between parties cannot be resolved through force, intimidation or the intervention of private security structures.

"Conflicts between private individuals, whether owners, investors or citizens who oppose a project, cannot be resolved by force, intimidation or private security structures that take on roles that belong to the state. This is why the state exists and why law enforcement is the monopoly of public institutions," he says.

The socialist MP also congratulates the State Police for their reaction after the protest and for the prosecution of the private guards involved in the incident.

"I commend the General Directorate of the State Police for its response after the protest and for the prosecution of the private guards involved in the event. A full investigation and determination of responsibilities for any violation is the only way to guarantee that the law acts equally for everyone," said Bido.

At the end of his reaction, the MP emphasized that respect for the rule of law remains a non-negotiable principle.

"The rule of law is not negotiable," his statement concludes.
