Socialist Party MP, Briseida Çakërri, has reacted to the incident that occurred during the protest in Zvërnec, Vlora, where several protesters clashed with private guards and one of them was dragged away.
Through a public statement, Çakërri condemned the use of violence against citizens, describing it as a violation of the principles of the rule of law.
According to her, the actions of masked individuals who used violence against protesters constitute a serious concern and cannot be justified under any circumstances.
The MP emphasized that law enforcement and guaranteeing public order are exclusive competences of state institutions and cannot be exercised by individuals or private structures.
"The authority of the law cannot be replaced by anyone and public order cannot be delegated outside the institutions that have this responsibility," it is emphasized in its response.
Chakra's reaction
"What we saw does not reflect the standards and values that should characterize a democratic society."
The images of masked individuals clashing and using violence against protesters cast a heavy shadow over the principles of the rule of law. The authority of the law cannot be replaced by anyone and public order cannot be delegated outside the institutions that have this responsibility.
Albania needs investments, development and projects that create prosperity. Every investment in accordance with the law must be realized. But it is equally important that the law remains the compass that guides every process and every decision-making.
The reaction of the State Police and the prosecution of the private guards involved in the incident are a signal that no one can act beyond the limits set by the law.
"In a true democracy, strength does not come from masks or intimidation, but from citizens' trust in the law, which must be equal for all."
